IN THE MINOR COASTAL ZONE IN THESSALONIKI
GENERAL
The coastal zone of the bay of Thessaloniki, especially the area located between the sports' facilities of Mikra and the airport, is gradually developing without being a part of an integral or broader planning.
The site now allows (mainly because of the lack of construction activity)
systematic examination of the relationship between the sea and the land, a relationship that apparently has little concern to the city itself.
The presence of the river – which, starting from Chortiati, passes through Therme and ends to the sea(developing the famous Dam of Thermi,)- divides the area into two zones.
With few exceptions, the coastline in the wider area of the building plot has remained unchanged for decades while any construction has been kept at very low levels. But with the rapid expansion of commercial activities in the area (currently being developed mainly in the road Thessaloniki - Airport) and the overall expansion of the city to the east, it is certain that the coastal zone where the building plot is located, will also develop. That growth should be mild and meet the housing and recreational needs of the inhabitants of the greater region.

Specifications and design to solve the issue
The main body of the course is the treatment of the compositional aspects of the matter in all its phases. During the first semester, this processing will be completed with the delivery of preliminary designs including data of the final design and during the second semester processing will aim in studying the application level.
The annual workshop cannot be divided into two separate semesters (teaching and marking). Students who choose the course must complete the annual process (participation in the workshop, corrections, presentations, deliveries, etc.) in the same academic year, to maintain the prescribed credits. Workshop attendance for more than one academic years is not possible because every year the topics are different. It is for that reason stressed that the completion and the delivery of the deliverables of the first semester is a prerequisite for the attendance of the following semester.
